La rétrospective Things Uncommon présente des films, des objets ou des sculptures, inspirés de faits connus qu’ils soient réels ou de fiction.

Greta Magnusson Grossman is celebrated in a large retrospective exhibition for the unique approach to Swedish modernism that she brought with her when she moved from Stockholm to Los Angeles in the late 1930s. The exhibition is designed by TAF and is produced in collaboration with R20th Century Gallery, New York.

New adaptations in the signage system developed for Play Van Abbe by Tenfinger, the Brussels-based studio for graphic and spatial design. During the National Museum Weekend, Play Van Abbe Part 2, Time Machines, will open. Time Machines comprises three exhibitions. Museum Modules presents four studies based on special museum projects from the past (with designer Jakob Gebert and Italian architect, Lina Bo Bardi).

Medium Resistance examines contemporary works of craft and print that resist old-fashioned divisions of high art and artisanship, reassessing the mediums’ expressive, communicative, and material possibilities. Ceramic multiples and posters, graphic digital images and books, to name just a few examples, straddle the lines between art, craft, and mass production, exploring each format’s potential for participation and dissemination, aesthetic, social, and technical labor.
