In his photographic series « Lick Creek Line » Ron Jude follows a fur trapper into the wilderness of the American West. While following his subject along the river, Jude reflects on the possibilities of storytelling in photography, on the blurring line between documentary and fiction in his work and on the new space that is thus created.

Between the Flashes of the Lighthouse is an extension of the series Nine Nameless Mountains, realized by Maanantai Collective in August 2014, 2 years later the first trip to Lofoten. In reference to the exhibition title, the dark moments between the flashes were indeed a sign of the possibility to step into the unknown, the unexpected and the prolific part of the creative process. The new works of Maanantai are playing with subtlety and drive with the direct experimentation of visual perception.

Lena Amuat et Zoë Meyer interrogent l’influence des processus esthétiques sur la production des savoirs. Entamant en 2009, sous le nom d’Artefacts and Models, un travail de collecte photographique qui emprunte au registre encyclopédique, elles développent un système d’archives personnelles toujours augmentées, de l’ordre du substrat culturel, où se mêlent moulages antiques, artefacts ethnologiques, objets cultuels, modèles scientifiques ou encore pédagogiques.

In 1967 Anders Petersen starts photographing a bar called Café Lehmitz in Hamburg, close to Zeughausmarkt. He was photographing there for a period of almost three years and in 1970 he had his first soloexhibition over the bar in Café Lehmitz with 350 photographs nailed to the wall. In 1973 he published his first book ”Gröna Lund”, about people in an amusementpark in Stockholm.

PUTPUT est un collectif artistique interdisciplinaire formé de Stefan Friedli et Ulrik Martin Larsen, basé à Copenhague. La rencontre de ces deux artistes, issus du design et de la mode, les amène à concevoir un univers à l’intersection de la photographie contemporaine, de la sculpture et du design. Leur oeuvres, constructions surréalistes et décalées, interrogent notre perception de la réalité et invitent à porter un nouveau regard sur notre environnement immédiat.

Richard Prince was born in 1949 in the Panama Canal Zone and lives and works in upstate New York. Chacune des expositions de Jagna Ciuchta est une intervention in situ qui interroge l’inscription de ses œuvres dans un environnement réel. Pour cette exposition l’artiste emprunte à l’identité du lieu ses références et recrée au sein de la galerie une sculpture hybride, inspirée des étagères conçues par les architectes Jacob+MacFarlane, à la fois œuvre et support de ses œuvres. En ré-interprétant les formes existantes du lieu avoisinant elle fait courir à l’œuvre le risque, absurde, de se confondre avec son référent. Pourtant, l’œuvre de Jagna Ciuchta se déploie dans une toute autre dimension. L’artiste tisse des liens entre passé et présent, l’histoire et son histoire et entrelace les supports et les mediums, sapant ainsi tout cloisonnement des catégories esthétiques, temporelles et spatiales. Second volet de cette exposition in progress : une autre variation, un nouveau relief.

« C’est à un étrange huis clos que Pierre Liebaert nous convie. Les modèles qui, répondant à l’annonce qu’il a diffusée, ont souhaité venir poser dans l’intimité d’une chambre close, semblent n’avoir rien tant désiré que cet instant du face à face avec un photographe qu’ils ne connaissaient pas. Nul autre désir que celui d’être devant lui, d’être contemplés, de se livrer à l’appareil en transgressant une norme à quoi leur vie publique ou leur situation familiale paraît les contraindre. La photographie qui procédera de la rencontre n’est dès lors plus pour eux qu’un document qui en atteste, une “photographie comme preuve”, celle de leur liberté momentanée. »
