Les sujets mais aussi la rigueur de la construction et la résonnance picturale de l’oeuvre font la singularité de ce travail. The Nederlands Fotomuseum has started the new exhibition series Quickscan NL about the most recent developments in the photography in The Netherlands. In this first edition approximately 25 photographers and artists show their work, not older than two years and mostly for the first time on show. In 2008, Julien Renault presented a collection of hand-blown glass lamps, made by studio Matteo Gonet (CH), representing the stem of a tree. His ECAL diploma project Hand forged aluminium serie won the first price at the D3 competition (IMM Cologne), organized by the German Design Council. On the designer’s website, you can view very graphic works in progress photographed by himself. Julien Renault lives in Brussels and works for the Sylvain Willenz Design Studio.

À l’occasion de l’exposition De mémoire. Sur le savoir et l’oubli, Layla Aerts expose 2 de ses séries dans les jardins du Musée du Dr. Guislain et le quartier «Bloemekenswijk», à Gand. Ce lieu exceptionnel, consacré à l’histoire de la psychiatrie, accueille régulièrement de grosses expositions artistiques où l’on peut voir à la fois des tracts médiévaux, de l’art ancien et contemporain, ainsi que des photos et des fragments filmés.

With their work The Authentic Boys connect film, photography and video art with physical acts and performance. The international collective consists of: Johannes Dullin (D), Boris van Hoof (NL), Gregory Stauffer (CH – Le Cabinet de Curiosités) and Aaike Stuart (NL). After Berlin and Oslo, the boys install a composition of five video works in Het Wilde Weten (Rotterdam) during the International Film Festival.

MY Public Space / « …to find emptiness in cityscapes » is an exhibition that offers a platform to artists whose works appropriate or scan the total emptiness of public spaces in such a way that they bestow new meaning on what appears self-evidently absent/present, and by doing so inspire people to approach public (but nevertheless extremely personal) open space in a new – more personal, critical and creative – way.
