Nora Aurrekoetxea LEPOA NUCA NECK, 2021—
« L’exposition trouve son origine dans la volonté d’entremêler les oeuvres de quatre artistes (Nora Aurrekoetxea, Pierre Gerard, Dalila Gonçalves & Florian Kiniques)ayant notamment pour point commun de prêter une attention considérable au presque rien, aux éléments de peu qu’elles et ils parviennent à magnifier. Afin de souligner cette dimension, le titre de l’exposition provient d’un fragment de poème écrit par Emily Dickinson. Cette figure originale de l’histoire de la poésie prêtait une grande attention aux moindres détails particulièrement ceux de la nature. Ainsi, comme le titre l’évoque, la magie nous guette. Elle nous attend au coin d’une rue, au fond d’un bois ou d’une poche. La sérendipité, ce hasard heureux, tient une place importante dans l’origine des œuvres rassemblées ici. Ensuite, vient le travail, la détermination des artistes qui conduit à ce que la poésie du presque rien devienne une évidence profonde, mystérieuse, probablement un rien complexe à qui voudrait tout comprendre tout de suite. Comme la poésie d’Emily Dickinson, les pistes d’interprétations sont ici nombreuses, les chemins sont pluriels, l’attention portée est, elle, décuplée. »

In 2013 Peggy Franck and Freek Wambacq started the project space Sunday Roast in Amsterdam. Arcade will host a Sunday Roast in London next Spring. Established by Christian Mooney in 2008. Arcade offers both a programme of exhibitions and a constantly evolving platform of performances, live events, talks and publications. Pete and Repeat programme run concurrently with the gallery programme, either accompanied by an exhibition by the publishing artist or in synergy with the exhibited works.
