Six artists were asked to dive into the FotoMuseum’s collection and bring together a diversity of images. By putting these photographs together new narrative structures appeared and subsequently served as a base for new work that will be presented during the exhibition. An exhibition with: Sarah Gerats, Michèle Matyn, Fien Muller, Frederik Heyman, Sarah Van Marcke and Simon Vansnick.

The Belgian artist and filmmaker Nicolas Provost will present four new films for his third solo exhibition at the Tim Van Laere Gallery in Antwerp, shortly after his first solo exhibition at the Haunch of Venison Gallery in Berlin. The video works by Nicolas Provost are characterised by their cinematic language, used in both experimental and narrative short films.

Le magazine littéraire DW B est un laboratoire créatif de littérature où se croisent l’art, la photographie, l’architecture et le théâtre. Depuis 2005, Inge Henneman, curateur du Fotomuseum à Anvers a sélectionné dix-sept jeunes photographes qui habitent et/ou travaillent en Belgique pour constituer le Webfolio DW B.

Brussels-based performance artist Jean Baptiste Biche will enact his newest study, MVTΛTIONS, a 40-minute one man show of experimental dance and theatre in Antwerp this week. Jean-Baptiste Bernadet lives and works in Brussels and Paris. For his first solo show at Maes & Matthys, he presents a new series based around the legendary Las Vegas slogan “What Happens Here Stays Here”, which sets the tone of the exhibition. Applied to painting, this phrase undermines the emotional and intellectual impact commonly ascribed to aesthetic experience.
