INSIDE, OUTSIDE, DOWNSIDE

I never produced actual sculptures before the ones in this show, for my constructions always imply that the visitor has to get into them, which relates more with installations.
Excerpts of a discussion with Philippe Van Wolputte, October 2012.

DOMINO EFFECT

Filed under: Art contemporain, Photographie | Tags: , , |

It puts forward the idea of collage through an endless play of action/interaction between the sensitive formal imbrications and a reading mode that compromises standard logic. Selection of Websites: Leo Gabin, Yngve Holen, Ilja Karilampi, Sean Raspet, and John Sparagana.
Galerie Catherine Bastide, Bruxelles. 07.09.2012 > 27.10.2012.

DISCOTHEQUISME

Filed under: Art contemporain, Design, Photographie | Tags: , , |

Recyclart, Bruxelles. Vernissage: 21.09.2012, 16:30.
Horaires:  Samedi 22.09, 15:00 > 17:00 + Dimanche 23.09, 15:00 > 17:00
Jeudi 27.09 (in vitro), 18:00 > 22:00 + Vendredi 28.09, 16:30 > 21:00

CARL PALM SOLO IN BRUSSELS: WE LIKE A HARDBOILED EGG IN THE MORNING BUT DON’T LIKE TO BE 6-8 MINUTES LATE

Filed under: Art contemporain | Tags: , |

Carl Palm works toward an everyday reading of concepts and sculpture independent of text or biography in an underplayed tone so that they finally turn over into psychological settings that activate a state of elevated consciousness in which one understands the careful logic of the works: Titles, acted out concepts, the craftsmanship of handmade chairs and tables, printed matter, sound and light conditions – all balance each other and point at considerable openness, mute but deeply social, to be created always anew. (Cultivatus)

Komplot, Bruxelles. 22.06.2012 > 31.07.2012.
Every Saturday from 14.00 to 18.00 or under appointment.

THE TIME KEEPER

Filed under: Art contemporain, Vidéo – Film | Tags: , |

In the interactive installation SHADOWS, Anna Frants creates a “coming-to-life” visual and acoustic environment, into which viewers are engaged as both active participants and observers. Breathless – an installation by Alexandra Dementieva consists of three light objects. The installation is a metaphor illuminating parallels between ideas of light and dark, physical and metaphysical, unconscious and conscious, life and death, finite and infinite. Glaz-Maton by Aernoudt Jacobs is a personal data sonification instrument.

iMAL, Bruxelles. 07.06.2012 > 24.06.2012.
