Between 2009 and 2010 Leen Voet realized 774 drawings based on the oeuvre of the painter Felix De Boeck (1898-1995). The complete series, originally drawn with pencil on A4 paper, is reproduced in the book called Felix. It is investigated as to how much the original work can be “neutralized” through copying, and how much the copies are “neutralized” by the original work.

Waxy Pith presents a video installation and a performance in one act by Anna Byskov. Anna’s video and performance works traverse the indistinct zones of non-sense, contra-sense, or anti-sense, in which the absurd consistently prevails.

Sarah Westphal‘s first solo exhibition in Brussels, curated by Philippe Braem at Rossi Contemporary. Gehirn, Gestirn, Gestein, mainly consists of brand new works. Central is the exploration of images that are ‘housed’ in us and haunt our mind, traces that remain after an appropiation of space. But also the conspiracy of collected relicts inwhich history literally and figuratively nestles, appears in the works on show.

Elena Damiani’s work is using obvious collages techniques and shares a common approach with architecture. On the opposite, Aloïs Godinat seems closer to the language of sculpture.

Waxy Pith, an active platform for the contemporary arts based in Brussels, presents an exhibition of works by six international artists. Sébastien Chou has realised a series of seven photographs based on a collaboration with musician Leslie Winer. The objects and projections Sophie Giraux makes touch upon time and space, limitation and infinity.Stian Ådlandsvik’s work reveals both the paradox and the original state of the treated objects. Juan Fontanive’s animate sculpture comprises handcrafted imagery and sequences of movement. The deconstructive installations and sculptural forms produced by Antonia Low evoke notions of (dis)connection. Olve Sande‘s works simultaneously encompass architecture, history and literature. Graphic design: neutre.be.
